We live an hour or two away from Atlantic City, and are used to paying the resort fees there, but at the Riverside, there are actually things you get for your resort fee. Elevator service was fast, and the room was fairly quiet, even on a Thursday and Friday night. Our room faced the parking lot and the mountains, and while it did have a Juliet balcony, the door wouldn't open (and it was certainly too hot outside to actually open it!!). This wasn't a 5-star place, but it certainly was nice enough. Check-in was fairly easy - we paid for the room using credit card points, but still had to pay an additional $23/day for resort fees and there was a $100 hold placed on our card, which wasn't released until about 4 days after check-out. We had never been to Laughlin before, so we really didn't know what to expect. We were staying in the south tower, which I think was built in the mid-90's. We stayed for two nights at the Riverside Resort about two weeks ago when we were in the area to visit the Grand Canyon.
